Favorite Song...

Oh MAN this is a hard one! Music is such a huge part of my life & I have about a billion favorites but if I really really really had to pick just one... it would probably be Cha Cha Cha by MC Lyte.

Being a female in the rap game is interesting because most female MCs feel it is necessary to talk about sex and designer labels just to get a name for themselves. Which is fine, I'm not hatin' on that, but I don't feel it's very original (unless you are Lil Kim who IMO was the originator of female dirty rap). That's why I love MC Lyte. She's true to her style, one of the original MC's in the game (male or female), and is a great role model to millions of young women with the message that you don't have to take your clothes off to sell a record. She paved the way for MCs like Nikki Minaj, Missy Elliot, Lil Kim, Eve, & Foxy Brown.

Even to this day, if you hear Cha Cha Cha at a club/bar people go crazy because the lyrics are still relevant, the beat is still tight, and it puts modern hip hop songs to shame IMO. Without further introduction, my favorite song, Cha Cha Cha...
