Carnavale!

Soooo who's going to the SF Carnavale Memorial Day weekend??

For those of you who don't know, SF Carnavale is one of the most poppin' festivals/street fairs this side of North America. Harrison Street in SF's Mission District is the home of this cultural explosion where you can dance to samba under a tent filled with over 40 drummers, walk a few more steps and gig to some bomb ass dancehall, walk a couple more steps and eat some Salvadorean pupusas, walk a few more steps and listen to some local Hip Hop, walk a few more steps and mingle with beautiful 1/2 naked women in spakely feathered tiny dance costumes, walk a couple more steps and buy an African Dishiki or a Guayabera, walk a few more steps and purchase some bamboo earrings from Thailand, and all the while be sippin' on that bottle of coke you bought at the corner store that's half way filled with Bacardi. You can't go two minutes without hearing some kind of drums in the distant background, or running into all your old school friends or ex-boo's from back in the days.

For those of you who do know, HEEEEEEEEY I'll see you there!

My girls and I always go on Sunday (since Monday is a holiday) and because the actual parade takes place that morning. I personally think Sunday is the most poppin' day where you'll find the most Frisco Natives (a rare and dying breed). If you can avoid going with your man or girl you should. You don't want to break your neck lookin' at all the eye candy, and there's LOTS of that! Also, if you can avoid driving, have someone drop you off cuz parking that day is near impossible.

I'll leave you with a few images to get you in the mood...
